STELLA GARDENS

Michael Fields’ garden student program offers agricultural education and experience with a community purpose. Students learn by doing and get a start toward vocations in agriculture.

The program provides hands-on instruction in organic and biodynamic growing practices in a working subscription and market garden operation called Stella Gardens and other related educational endeavors.

Stella Gardens is a certified organic, hands-on training garden for instructing students in vegetable production.

Production encompasses approximately twelve acres of raised beds and field sites.
Raised beds planted in the French-intensive method are worked by hand.
Field sites are planted with light farm and garden machinery.
Greenhouses supplement the gardens and extend the growing season.
